How this guide compares rings
Last updated: November 2026 · Published by FirmTech
The MaxPR Ring Guide recommends rings by matching each reader's priority to the same four facts for every ring: tension, wear time, price and tracking.
This guide is written and published by FirmTech, which makes all three rings it covers. Every fact comes from FirmTech's own product, comparison and reviews pages, or from outside sources named on the page where they appear. No independent testing or audit was done.

How are the recommendations on this site made?
Each recommendation starts from what the reader wants most, then points to the ring whose stated facts fit that goal. Hardness points to the MaxPR, long wear to the Performance Ring, and data to the TechRing.
The tension ring ranking weighs tension first because that is what the search asks about. A different priority would give a different order, and we say so on the page.
The criteria we use
| Criterion | What it means | Where the fact comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Tension | FirmTech tightness rating, 1 to 5 | FirmTech product pages |
| Wear time | Maximum safe wear time listed | FirmTech product and comparison pages |
| Price | List price in US dollars | FirmTech product and shop pages |
| Tracking | Whether the ring has sensors and an app | FirmTech comparison page |
Sources we rely on
- FirmTech's ring comparison, MaxPR page and reviews page
- FirmTech's research article on the TechRing and MaxPR, quoted as FirmTech's own figures
- menMD on how technology is improving constriction rings
- RxSleeve's ED ring comparison guide, for statistics it cites from NIDDK, the Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine and Mayo Clinic
What we did not do
We did not test rings from other brands, run a survey, or commission an independent review. Ratings are quoted exactly as FirmTech publishes them, with their date. Nothing on this site is medical advice; talk with a doctor about your own situation. Facts are checked as of November 2026.
